Catching up

Well it’s been a while since my last blog so I will catch you up. First things first Trever came to visit a while back. And well I guess we were kind of boring hosts because the most exciting thing the boys found to do was to clean their ears with wax candles. Lol They enjoyed themselves I think?
Next my sister graduated from High School, but mostly I wanted to put this picture up to show off the lei I made her from real flowers! It was my first atempt, and it was really fun to do.
We were so excited to be security guards for the new Johnny Depp movie the Lone Ranger. Well we did not last long for one because we got sick and for another the job was not all it was cracked up to be. We did 12 hour shifts in the middle of nowhere guarding basically dirt. The first couple days no one was even out at the set. There was one day that we did where they were filming but we still did not get much  action.
Ha ha ha Scott trying to be sexy in his uniform
First day on the job. We are trying out our serious faces :)

Well our shift started at 6 am in the morning so we got to watch the sun rise because we had to leave at 5 am to get there on time. It was really pretty but soon became torture out in the sun!
We covered our car because we were dying from the heat.

Pictures of us dying in the car
This is what base camp looked like for the first two days of work. NO ONE!!!

This is what it looked like when everyone else finally showed up.

We did not even get to see Johnny Depp because they locked everything down when they took him to set and put him in a black SUV with tinted windows. RUDE! We did see Army Hammer who plays the lone Ranger and he was way less high maintenance. Scott told him were the set was at and then he drove down on his dirt bike with no helmet, the other people were way too caught up in Johnny.

Anyways we quit basically because it was a pain working for them and also we got sick and Scott continued to get worse. So...What did we do? Colonoscopy anyone :)
It was a good thing we did this too. He had ulcers way bad all over the place! It turns out he has Ulcerative Colitis. So hopefully we can get him better now. I love my sweetheart and also he is pretty funny on drugs ;)
He is feeling a little bit better so we took a trip to the mountains and went fishing! We had a pretty good time fishing. P.S. only one of those fishes is mine :( the others are my little brothers and Scotts. Also I think my husband would like me to add the fact that he caught the biggest fish :) We cooked them up for dinner.

Getting Settled

Well we finally have a little place of our own! We were so happy to not be in the camp trailer anymore. This new place is not the best, but it’s the cheapest thing we could find and we looked everywhere. To be honest we are lucky we got the place. It’s a two room double wide for 450 a month plus utilities. It’s crazy how expensive it is to rent down here! Before we found our new place the next cheapest thing was a single wide for 650 a month.
This is our front yard. It's nice to have some grass and have it shady most of the day.

When we first moved in all the walls in the house was this sick brown with only one cote, so you could also see every roller mark. NOT PRETTY!
So we went to work painting all the walls a lighter color to brighten the place up!

This is the lighter color but you prb still can't tell becaue it was kind of dark in the house when I took them. lol O well you get the picture.
This is our bedroom, it's still the dark brown beceause we ran out of paint. Also our landry room, dont worry those are clean cloths that I had just taken out of the dryer.

This is our nice yellow and white kitchen the counter are somthin else ;)
This is a picture of our second breakfast in our new house! Our first breakfast I actually  had left over boxes from moving so we ate on those. Then I threw them away so we had to eat on the floor :)
We also have no microwave which has proved to be quite the annoyance . This is Scott warming up some leftovers :) also when I watch my sister in the day time I get to warm her bottles up over the stove. I really feel like an old fashion house wife then lol

FIRST BBQ!
Yep we had a little family BBQ and it was pretty fun. My good friends freezer went out which was sad for them, but good for us. They called and made us come get everything. So we had some rib eye steak.
Travis was the only one who showed up! Where were the rest of you??? lol We were glad that he was down for work, we were just happy to have some company. Thanks Travis
Finished product! We actually found a fold up table for the occasion so that we looked civil.

Wonderful Sunday-

Today was stake conference and as most usually go, it was really good. I loved all the talks and now I just need to remember everything I learned so I can try to be better. One of my favorite was about making the gospel stick in our lives, and also one about making service a normal part of what we do and who we are. Quote of the day from conference "If you are not satisfied with your lot then you should put a service station on it"

O and I almost forgot Scott and I were asked to speak in church this next Sunday. Scott keeps threatening that he really is not going to lol, but I know he will do good. I have never heard him speak before and I'm excited :) But at the same time I'm kind of nervous for me.  Hopefully all will go well wish us luck we will probably need it ;)

The other cool thing that took place tonight as most people know was the solar eclipse! Ok it was not as exciting as I thought it was going to be, but it was still pretty cool. We found a welders mask that was actually a pain to work with. It was solar powered and so we kept having to tap the dumb thing and every once in a while it would stop working and we would get a glimpse of the suns blinding light.

Scott and I looking through our welding glass at the sun
This is not the best picture. It was taken with my phone camera through the glass we were looking through.
This is what a real solar eclipse looks like
To top the day off I got to play catch with my hubby just as the sun was going down and it was nice and cool outside. We are pretty good if I do say so myself.lol I think we are going to play on the co-ed community teams that start pretty soon, I’m excited :)

Our big break: After Earth

We set out on our Saturday adventure by going to a cinematic event - The Avengers, the move really inspired us. We were so inspired that we set off to be real movie stars. We found this add in the news paper and with full confidence went down to the movie casting and tried out.
To prove that we are not making this up here is the news paper add.
Now let me tell you what the movie is about. First of all the coolest part is that the star character is Will Smith!!!!! YES that’s right THE WILL SMITH!!! Anyways the movie is called After Earth it's some sort of space movie. The movie is being directed by M. Night Shyamalan the same person who directed Signs, The village, and the Sixths sense. etc...
Scott just getting ready for his picture to be taken for the cast.
Me getting ready for my picture to be taken.
Now for the sad news. They apparently are looking more for men than they are women which was sad for me, but good for Scott!. They loved him right off the bat. To be honest I think the guy who was doing the casting call seemed to be gay, and he wanted my man! But I let him know that he was my husband. lol Anyways they were pretty optimistic about scott getting a part to play a space cadet. He is going to have to cut his hair pretty short, and wear a shimmery silver space suit! lol I think it's going to be so FUN :) They will give him a call by next friday and shooting starts May 31st. So if any of you want to get autographs before we are too busy with our new movie career just let us know:)

Now that we have a blog I think that I'm supposed to write about little everyday things we do in our lives. This might be tricky because I never take pictures so here goes my first attempt to write about random stuff. I know that it's not the best, but maybe I will get better. :)
So yesterday Scott and I took a trip to Grand Junction Colorado to take care of some things, and run errands. Basically everyone in Moab goes over there if they want to get any sort of real shopping done for a reasonable price. It's hard to see, but the sign in the picture says welcome to colorful Colorado.
The drive over is only 1hour and 45min, but Scott thought it took longer, which is strange because he was asleep for most of the drive. lol
When we got there we went to the social security office and applied for my new card with my new last name. We also applied for Scott to get one too because he lost it some 6 years ago in the ocean.
We went to Target to use some of the gift cards we got for our wedding. We ended up getting a nice set of knives and some glass tupperwere. I'm pretty excited to use them!  I think Scott would of liked to get the head phones we are playing with in this picture, but in the end i think the kitchen stuff will come in handy :)
We had a fun time getting stuff done. We also went to Wal-Mart to get an eye exam for Scott. Good news his eyes showed no signs of diabetes :) We are getting him new glasses. He had a hard time seeing after the appointment because they dialated his pupils with medicine, you can't really see in this picture but I put it up anyways.
It was a good sucessful short trip and we got a lot done.

Well I guess me and Scott have to get a blog now that we are married and that's the thing to do, actually we just want to view other people's blogs. So I have no idea how to work this whole thing so you guys will just have to bare with me until I figure things out.
